Our position on campaigning during the period of national mourning

“Given the period of National Mourning, which has resulted in the cancellation of many diverse events across the country and with trade unions calling off rail and postal strikes, the No to Hassockfield Campaign Group has decided not to take part in the normal monthly demonstration outside Hassockfield/Derwentside IRC on September 17th.

Monthly demonstrations are held to show solidarity with the women imprisoned there and to ensure that their plight is not forgotten.  This week the No to Hassockfield Campaign Group will instead make other representations, to mark their solidarity with the women incarcerated.”
